Team extension for software development: experienced engineers from Baku

Short of developers, but the roadmap won't wait? We strengthen your existing team with senior engineers, tech leads or a complete cross-functional team from Baku. Whether you need one .NET developer for your backend or a whole team, our engineers work in your tools and follow your processes (Jira, Git, Scrum), join your stand-ups and commit straight into your repositories. Developer nearshoring with only two to three hours' time difference to Germany, a German- and English-speaking contact person and monthly billing in euro.

When team extension makes sense

  • Developer vacancies stay open for months while your backlog keeps growing.
  • Your team is tied up with maintenance and day-to-day work; there is no time left for new features or modernisation.
  • A project needs expertise you don't have in-house, at short notice. For example .NET, cloud or AI integration.
  • Individual freelancers are hard to coordinate, and when they leave, the knowledge of your system leaves with them.
  • Offshore vendors in distant time zones reply the next day, and every decision waits.
  • A classic fixed-price project doesn't fit, because requirements change constantly and you want to stay in control.

How team extension works

  1. Free initial consultation

In a free 30-minute initial consultation we clarify which roles you are missing, which technology stack you use, how your team is organised and when you need support. We reply to enquiries within 24 hours on working days.

  2. Matching profiles

Based on your requirements, we propose engineers whose experience fits your stack and your domain. You meet the candidates beforehand and can test them yourself in a technical interview. The decision is yours.

  3. Contract and confidentiality

Before we look at your code, we sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA). Team composition, duration, billing and the rules for any change of personnel are set out in the contract. If we process personal data on your behalf, we also conclude a data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR.

  4. Onboarding into your environment

The engineers get access to your systems (Jira, Git, wiki, chat) and learn your codebase and conventions. Like a new in-house colleague, they start with manageable tasks and gradually take on more responsibility.

  5. Working in your sprints

From then on they are part of your team: they join daily, planning, review and retrospective, estimate tasks, write code, review pull requests and document to your standards. Direction and prioritisation stay with you.

  6. Ongoing support and adjustment

Your contact person at DCL Labs checks in with you regularly, handles organisational questions and makes sure the collaboration works. If your needs change, we adjust the team size within the terms of the contract.

What you get with team extension

Experienced engineers
Senior engineers for backend (C#/.NET), frontend and mobile (React, Next.js, Flutter), data and AI (Python) as well as cloud and DevOps, who work independently and don't need close supervision.
Tech leads
Technical leadership for your team: architecture decisions, code reviews, guidance for junior colleagues and alignment with product owners.
A complete team
A cross-functional team of backend, frontend and DevOps engineers that takes ownership of a product or module and works closely with your in-house team.
Work in your tools
Tickets in your Jira, code in your Git repositories, communication in your channels. No parallel world and no extra tool for you to maintain.
German-speaking contact person
For contracts, planning and escalations you have a dedicated contact person who speaks German and English.
Working hours that fit
Baku is three hours ahead of Germany in winter and two in summer. A normal German working day overlaps almost completely with ours, so stand-ups and meetings happen at your usual times.

IT nearshoring from Azerbaijan: models and billing

Team extension is billed monthly. The price depends on the number, role and seniority of the engineers; after the initial consultation you receive a written offer in euro.

Dedicated team on a monthly basis
Permanent engineers work on your project for the long term. You pay a monthly amount per person. Costs are predictable and you don't have to recruit.
Time & material
If demand fluctuates, we bill the hours actually worked, monthly and itemised.
Fixed price for well-defined work
If you need a finished project rather than extra people, we can quote a fixed price after a requirements analysis and deliver it as a project.
Transparent billing in euro
One invoice per month, in euro, based on the agreed team composition. Term and notice periods are agreed together in the contract.

Frequently asked questions about team extension

How quickly can the engineers start?

That depends on the profile you need and on availability. In the initial consultation we clarify your requirements; we then propose suitable engineers and give you a concrete start date. We don't commit to a start date we can't keep. Onboarding then works like it does for a new colleague: access, codebase, small first tasks, then more responsibility.

What happens if an engineer doesn't fit the team?

It can happen, and we address it openly. How and within what timeframe an engineer is replaced is agreed in the contract. You talk to your contact person, we discuss the reasons and propose a suitable alternative; we organise the handover so that as little knowledge as possible is lost.

How does communication work?

The engineers work in your channels, such as Slack or Microsoft Teams, and join your meetings by video. Technical communication within the team is usually in English. For organisational matters, contracts and escalations you have a contact person who speaks German and English. Thanks to the small time difference of two to three hours, everyone is reachable during your normal working hours.

How are our intellectual property and confidential data protected?

Before we see your code or documents, we sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA). Rights to the work results are set out in the contract. Because the engineers work in your repositories and systems, the code stays with you from day one, and you grant and revoke access yourself. If personal data is processed on your behalf, we conclude a data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR.

How does billing work?

Monthly and in euro. With a dedicated team you pay a fixed monthly amount per engineer; with time & material you pay for the hours actually worked. You receive the exact terms in a written offer after the initial consultation.

Will the engineers follow our processes?

Yes. Scrum, Kanban or your own way of working: the engineers adopt your sprint rhythm, definition of done, review rules and branching strategy. If you like, we also bring our own habits, such as two-week sprints with a demo at the end of each one.

Why nearshoring from Azerbaijan?

Baku is only two to three hours ahead of Germany. Coordination therefore happens during your usual working hours instead of being spread across time zones, as with distant offshore locations. At the same time, you gain access to experienced engineers without having to set up your own subsidiary abroad.

Can we start with a single engineer?

Yes. From a single engineer to a complete team, as you need. Later we can scale the team up or down within the terms of the contract.
